“From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.” – Arthur Ashe
Many years ago, Jim and I decided that we’d buy toys and gifts for needy children that would be equivalent to what we would have spent on Lauren at Christmas. It is another way for us to keep the memory of our sweet little girl alive at this very special time of year. Now that James and Bryan are older, they often shop with us to help us pick out these gifts for donation. And in recent years, it is they who take these gifts to the Toys for Tots drop off location for us too. It is a good life lesson for them.
For 3 short years, Lauren loved Christmas! She loved her baby Christmas PJ’s, her special frilly Christmas dresses, and all of the holiday’s festivities, especially visits to the mall to see Santa and to ride the mini Christmas train there.
This giving helps our family keep the memory of Lauren alive and I am confident that she is smiling down on us with her approval.
Merry Christmas to all!
